    Calcium Deposits

Contrary to in favor belief, the real cause of calcium deposits is nowhere near the cosidered of taking in too much calcium.

Too much calcium in the diet is not the real reason for the occurrence of calcium deposits in one's. In fact, there have been studies that linked calcium insufficiency to calcium deposits. However ironic, medical experts found out that those people who have calcium deposits are those who are calcium deficient. This means that those whose bone densities are weaker lack calcium the same technique those with calcium deposits do.

Most people would easily think that excessive calcium in the body is the main reason for the calcium deposits. However, science would tell us that the extra calcium do not obtain to stay inside the body long ample to form lumps. These are conveniently expelled from out system via our wastes.

There are other experts who point out other possible causes of calcium deposits that have little, if anything, to do with calcium. Two culprits are said to be Vitamin K insufficiency and magnesium deficiency. Another possible reason for calcium deposits is Vitamin D toxicity.

Not all calcium deposits or calcinosis are painful, although admittedly, the bulk are. These lumps that form underneath the skin in several parts of the body have the pronness to break. When the skin does, a chalky liquid, much like toothpaste, comes out. Calcinosis may eventuate as a single lump or as a group of lumps on the shoulders, hands, or at the joints like the knees and elbows. There are lumps that are not evident and would need to be seen via an X-ray.

Other health conditions that can bring about calcium deposits are lupus, tumors, dermatomyositis, and parasitic infections. Calcium deposits are usually suffered by females ageing from 35 to 65, although men are not spared from this condition. This age bracket is the one the bulk susceptible to osteoporosis. The fact that osteoporosis is mainly caused by the lack of calcium supply, experts conclude that the two health issues share the same cause.

The treatment for calcium deposits depends on the severity of the problem. Swelling accompanied by pain may be treated with ice packs and some anti-inflammatory medicines. Cortisone injection on the lump is an option as this can give a few days respite from pain. The lumps that appear recurrently or seem to be growing in size may need to be surgically removed.

Gray hairs and blurry eyesight are not the biggest issues of getting old. And since the the bulk serious issues are not clearly visible, some of us fall into a dark hole without knowing what hit us.
